POV: You’re searching Google flights for the cheapest ticket to somewhere for your birthday and end up landing on the coolest, coastal city.
We spent five days in Lisbon to celebrate my birthday and fell in love with the city! I’ve rounded up my tips, recommendations, and of course – outfits.

DAY ONE
what i wore:
Everything is from Zara minus my CRANN sunnies and VEJA sneakers!
where i wore it:
lunch– @timeoutmarketlisboa fun + cheap drinks, but if you’ve been to one food market, you’ve been to them all. The sushi was great, and the chef’s talked me out of ordering Aperol Spritz here 😂 whoops – locals drink WINE!
happy hour – vermelho. Stopped by this spot after walking around the city. We sat in cool chairs with a view of the water, rosé in hand. What’s not to love about that.
Lisbon Cathedral – stunning to explore and has fabulous views! (+ lit a candle for good house vibes 😂).
Miradouro de Santa Luzia – gorgeous viewpoint with live music and vendors. If you’ve done any research, you’ve probably seen this come up!
We spent the first day exploring by foot. Immediately fell in love with the architecture, lively city, and gorgeous weather. We decided to walk back from the city to our hotel that evening and came across a huge market outside with food & drink stalls! This was the second market we saw that day walking around. So plan for spontaneity when you visit!

DAY TWO
what i wore:
H&M Silk Maxi Dress and beaded Anthropologie bag
where i wore it:
Brunch – @dearbreakfast nice food options and really cute decor. They have a couple of different locations!
Castelo de São Jorge – again, with the gorgeous views! The gardens were my favorite.
Walking Tour – we booked a free walking tour and ended up with the best guide! She shared so many recommendations and showed us some of the standout spots in the city.

DAY THREE
probably my favorite day of the trip! When we go back to Lisbon, we are definitely spending a night or two in Sintra. It was one of the most stunning places I’ve been.
what i wore:
ZARA set, old H&M hat, and same bag + sneakers
where i wore it:
Palácio de Monserrate is a bit out of the way, but TOTALLY worth the visit! It was so stunning inside and out.
From there, we took a tuk tuk to lunch at Tascantiga, where we ate amazing appetizers on the terrace.
National Palace of Pena – It was pretty cool to see, but I wouldn’t be jumping to go back. Out of all of the places we went on day three, this felt the most touristy and busy.
DAY FOUR aka my birthday!
what i wore:
Old ASOS dress, ZARA bag, VEJA sneakers
where i wore it:
brunch at Zenith. A random cute spot we found that seemed like a popular place to go. Bring cash if you come here!
From brunch, we walked to Sephora and wandered around the city, finding the famous Pink Street.
boat ride Our first time booking an Airbnb Experience was a 10/10! We went out on the water for a couple of hours and were given a mini “tour” from the locals along with snacks and beverages.
java for happy hour after was kind of a bust. In my opinion, you can get rooftop views pretty much everywhere in Lisbon, and this place seemed way overhyped and overpriced.
Rocco for dinner had to be my favorite meal of the trip! It kind of reminded me of The Ivy where everything is gorgeous and so welldone. We ate at the bar and feasted on oysters, shrimp, truffle rissoto, and of course, two desserts.
DAY FIVE

what i wore:
where i wore it:
Most of the day was spent exploring Belém. Overall, we didn’t love it. Long lines at every place we went, and some spots were kind of underwhelming. We did enjoy a delicious lunch by the water and nice drinks at an outside vendor, but other than that it was kind of a bust.
jerónimos Monastery – long wait time, but when you finally get in it doesn’t feel overcrowded so I guess that make it better? It was really pretty and huge!
Belém Tower – Not really worth a two-hour wait. It would say enjoy the beach and view of it and skip going in if you have limited time.
That’s a wrap! Overall I would 100% recommend Lisbon and will definitely be going back. It was such a fun city with great people, food, prices, and sites.
