My giant puppy is six months old in a little over a week! He’s 65 pounds, has serious FOMO, loves to cuddle on the couch, is food motivated, & obviously – cute as pie. I never thought I would be getting links for things like a dog food container, but here we are! I rounded up some of the “essential” items we have bought Otto, plus a few holiday treats. These are just a few favorites.

copper bowls / custom bowl / travel bowls / basket / food storage / blanket / KONG turtle / teething toy set / teething ring / KONG / dog treat
*I also LOVE going to TJMaxx for dog treats/toys! That’s where I’ve gotten the cute dog champagne/rose/beer chew toys and other great options. If you’re in the US, Saks Off 5th has great options, too (like Chewy Vuitton and Starbucks type toys)! These are such cute gift ideas.
Copper Bowls – They are super cute, but WARNING after a few months, my pup started to try and eat the rubber ring at the bottom of the bowls off. The copper also started to peel. They are good temporary options!
Custom Bowl – Waiting to use this until he doesn’t want to eat it, haha! I am obsessed with it!
Travel Bowls – Perfect for water breaks on walks!
Basket – I’m all about organizing! I got this canvas basket to store all of his treats, extra toys, leash, etc. It also came with a mini basket, which is perfect for extra dog bags.
Food Storage: They have so many cute options if your dog is tiny, but when he’s a large breed, the focus is less on looks and more on size, haha. We LOVE this rolling container to store his food. It fits a large bag of dog food and comes with a scoop.
Blanket – I’ve gotten him two from this brand! They are super cozy and soft.
KONG Turtle: Even before I had a dog, I knew of this brand and that they are known for being durable. So I thought having a few toys from them would be essential for a giant puppy!
Teething Toy Set: One of those Amazon Fails, but Otto still likes them! They are a LOT smaller than what I was thinking, but they seem to help him with his teething.
Teething Ring: This was recommended by every dog owner I asked. It’s great because you can put it in the freezer!
Kong: Again, another must-have. I sometimes will put a bit of his food in there to keep him entertained. The most common thing to use them for is treats or peanut butter! All have worked great for our pup.
Dog Treats – HOW CUTE!!! I was freaking out when I saw all of these items in the store. I picked up the macaroons, candy cane treats, and biscuits. He’s too big for all of the cute sweaters, but don’t worry; we have a snowman bandana ready for him, haha.
I hope that gives you a little inspo on what goodies to stock up on if you’re getting a puppy soon! Comment your pup’s top three fave items they have.
Now for the good stuff.
