1. TOP 3
For the past few weeks, I have started writing out my top 3 priorities for each day (in addition to my to-do list). I try to categorize each goal into one of the three categories: work, personal, and health. I love following this format and who doesn’t like checking things off a to-do list?
2. WATER INTAKE
Drinking more water was one of my 2020 goals! I’ve shared the water bottle I bought with y’all before. I love that it has a tracker on the side to help hold me accountable. I also LOVE making pitchers of water with fruit. My fave combo is lemon + mint.
3. YOGA
If you aren’t aware, yoga has so many benefits! It helps with anxiety, digestion, metabolism, and the list goes on. A twenty minute yoga video can almost be like a therapy session after a long day. It’s a chance to check in with yourself, your body, and stretch it out. If yoga isn’t for you, which I totally get, take ten minutes to stretch instead!
4. GARDENING/SOMETHING OUTSIDE
Y’all know I’m a total garden gal now! Our broccoli is thriving, berries are looking good, and herbs are almost ready to harvest. If you don’t have access to a yard, you can start an herb garden inside. If gardening isn’t your thing, you can always bring your pitcher of lemon water outside and catch up on your fave podcasts 😉
5. READING
A goal that’s always on my new year’s resolution list and one that I always fail haha. Who knew the Q would be what it took to change me? It’s also fun to read a book that also has a movie. My older brother and I read Gone Girl a the same time and then watched the movie the same weekend. Who doesn’t love a good Ben Affleck movie?!
6. CHECKING IN WITH FAMILY/FRIENDS
I always try to text my family and friends to see how they are doing. Being so far away, I have to put in extra effort to keep in touch. It’s nice to remind them you’ve got their back!
7. QT/PERSONAL TIME
I like to still make sure my man & I are still having little date nights. Sometimes it’s a game night, and other’s it’s just working in the garden together. I also am the kind of person who likes to be alone every so often! I make sure I have time to myself to watch trash TV (y’all surprised?) or do a face/hair mask. If it’s a busier day, I jam out to my fave songs old school Taylor Swift songs while I do my night time skin care routine.
8. GET FRESH AIR
Gossip Girl said it best: “sometimes you have to step outside, get some air, and remind yourself who you are and where you want to be.”
9. 15 MINUTE CLEAN
Feeling unproductive or don’t know where the day went? Scheduling 15 minutes a day to pick up and clean around the house is an easy thing to do to help you feel productive. I have a calendar reminder to go off every day at a certain time to do this….do I always do it? Hell no, but I’m trying to make it a thing.
10. BE THANKFUL
Take a minute to be thankful for what you have and for thank those out there kicking butt!
11. CLEAN UP YOUR INBOX + GOOGLE CALENDAR
I did this the first week in the Q and it was a game-changer! I organized all of my emails, deleted/unsubscribed, and made new folders. I schedule time every Friday to clean up my emails so it stays organized. I also recommend putting important dates in your fave online calendar. I have all of my fam/friends birthday and anniversaries on my google calendar so I don’t forget! One of my goals this year was to mail everyone a birthday card. So far, so good! I have each birthday set up to remind me a week before so I don’t forget.
12. TRY NEW RECIPES
If you’re stuck, I have some yummy ones listed in my last blog post! You could try out a mocktail, cocktail, dessert…so many cooking videos are out right now, so it’s easy to be inspired! I have been following along with Kristin Johns YouTube videos and she has started a “bread journey”. I’m so tempted…
13. PLAN A PARTY
Plan to have a brunch with your quarantine crew or a themed dinner. We’re planning a Mexican night to celebrate something in a few weeks and I’m ready to go all out. Any excuse to eat Mexican food and drink margaritas makes me happy.
14. NETFLIX + CHILL
Taking time to binge your fave show or watch your an old movie is a simple thing to do to treat yourself. I love watching Audrey Hepburn movies or my fave reality TV shows when I need to relax.
15. MAKE LISTS
I’m a huge list maker, so this is just natural to me. I currently have a list of things I want to cook/bake, travel lists (things I want to do when we go to Italy, Amsterdam, etc.), and what I want to stock up on when I’m back in the US.
Hopefully this list gave you a bit of inspiration on how to mix up your time in the Q! I hope everyone is staying healthy and safe. In the words of the most iconic movie, we’re all in this together.
