Chicago is probably my fave US city that I’ve been to (don’t tell NYC). Granted I’ve only been in the spring/summer, so maybe my mind would change after spending a winter there. We had a short weekend in the windy city where we walked instead of ubered *mostly*, ate yummy food, & paid for over priced rose.
My fave place we ate on this trip was brunch at the Blue Door Kitchen & Garden. It’s probably one of the cutest brunch spots I’ve ever been to. We ate outside in the garden area and soaked up the laid back atmosphere. I enjoyed mimosas + avocado toast. One of the days I got coffee at Dollop which is a popular spot there. If you’re looking for a place to sit and enjoy coffee I recommend Restoration Hardware. They have a yummy coffee shop with an outdoor patio + a nice view. Since we were there over the weekend, so many different markets were around that we wandered through. I think I saw the cutest dogs I’ve ever seen in my life, but that could just be dog fever. We went to a Cubs game which was so fun! Before going to the game we stopped for margaritas at Big Star across the street (so my bf could catch the Arsenal game…obviously) which was so yummy. The atmosphere at the game was so fun and highly recommend attending if you can. Later that night we went on a boat ride which is always a must in Chicago.
Now that you have a few snippets of what we did let’s get to the good stuff. What I wore.
Like packing for most of my big city trips- white sneakers are a must. I’m so thankful for this trend & so are my feet.
Most of the trips I go on we don’t have time for outfit changes *sadly* and I knew Saturday would be jam packed with things to do. I wore a black one shoulder top since it looks a bit dressier. Simple tops like this are perfect for traveling because you can re-wear them if needed! This simple top would look adorable with jeans or a maxi skirt. I also packed comfortable maxi dress and a dressy romper which I wore with black Steve Madden sandals. The sandals have a small heel, but are easy to walk in so they are another travel must for me!
Thankful for my second visit to this beautiful city & can’t wait to go back!
