Trading Ramen noodles for caviar… and textbooks for coffee table books…today, I’m sharing with y’all my big-girl apartment.

I teamed up with Designer Living to share my decor transition from college life to my first real, adult apartment! Designer Living is a new home goods company and has name brand products ranging from bedroom to home decor. When taking on this monumental change, finding the perfect decor was a must. Transitioning into having a full-time job meant that this apartment will be my new “home”.

 Step one: the bedroom.

Let’s face it, decorating can be pretty hard but also pretty exciting. Staring at Pinterest boards and flipping through magazines can only help so much. What really helped me get things started was determining the color pallet. I knew I wanted white with a pop of color. I decided on a white bed spread, which made the perfect canvas, so that I could take it in any direction.  If you are still in the college mindset of drinking wine and eating Domino’s on your bed, maybe go with a navy…

I found these two blue pillows online and thought they were adorable. I loved them even more in person.  I love the look of adding a bit of texture from the pillows to play off of the ruffles in the bed spread. And we can all agree that you can’t go wrong with a pop of turquoise. To bounce further accentuate the neutral look, I incorporated a gray throw at the foot of my bed.

I selected this trio blue and white paintings from Designer Living to hang above my dresser. I ended up keeping them leaned against the wall and actually love how it looks! And, of course, what kind of Southern gal would I be if I didn’t have my monogram somewhere? My white initials pop perfectly against the navy canvas.  Off to one side of my bed, I added a fun gold night stand from Home Goods with a few of my favorite coffee table books: Paris in Color and two of the Lauren Conrad books.  My clear lamp is from Target complemented by a neutral-patterned lampshade.

Lastly, what would a grownup apartment be without fresh flowers? A must have for any room as long as they’re in your budget!
